Rosin extraction is safe and easy for both home and commercial growers because it doesn’t require any solvents with which to extract cannabinoids, nor does it require extensive safety measures like some other extraction methods do. But for rosin extraction to be most efficient — and produce the highest yield — professionally designed rosin presses are ideal. Today, rosin presses can be found in almost any shape, size, form, and capacity. Here are some of our favorite rosin presses for both commercial and personal use.

Overview
If you’re looking for an affordable rosin press that gives you great versatility during your pressing sessions, look no further than the Bubble Magic Hydraulic/Pneumatic Rosin Press. You can use this unit either manually or with an air compressor.
Features
First off, this unit comes with two sets of LED screens to control the automatic digital timer and the temperature control. Its 8” x 16” heat plates are massive (definitely when compared with other rosin presses currently in the market) and provide 12 tons of pressing force. No doubt you’ll be able to increase your production capacity several-fold with this unit. The Bubble Magic is indeed a pneumatic/hydraulic hybrid rosin press. However, it does not come with an air compressor. This is a big deal because this unit cannot function as a pneumatic press unless it has an air compressor. This might catch some people off guard so keep this fact in mind. This also explains why the price point is so low for a rosin press of this caliber.

What is the Best Rosin Press?
More and more rosin presses are emerging in the market as this segment grows. However, these are the most presses in the marketplace today: DIY presses, manual presses, hydraulic presses, pneumatic presses, electric rosin presses, and hybrid presses.
What goes on to choosing the best rosin press will depend on your needs and your demands out of the press. Here are a few questions to help you decide on which rosin press is best for you.
Is it for personal or commercial use?
How many hours a day/week do you intend on using the rosin press?
How much material will you need to press each time?
How important is space for you?
Are you an environment that can tolerate noise for several hours during the day?
Portable Rosin Press
For someone looking for the basics of the basics, there are very portable hand-held presses that can do the job. These are travel-friendly and can fit in any bag or luggage.

The ECO Farm provides industrial strength without blowing the budget. The size is kept compact, making it more suitable than table top units for rosin production at home or on the go. The unique sloped design prevents burning terpenes and directs the flow of the rosin for a quicker collection process. While the gradual heating process guarantees maximum achievable yields without a 2nd or 3rd press needed.
Many rosin presses have large plates that increase the total surface area and then require extreme pressures for success. Generally, only a fraction of the surface area is used, resulting in the rosin being trapped between the hot plates after leaving the starting material.
The size of our plates requires significantly less pressure making it easy to be done by hand while guaranteeing that 80% or more of the surface area is used in each press. This causes the rosin and wide variety of terpenes to exit the plates to a cool, safe zone immediately. In combination with our unique sloped design and heating process, this makes temperature control unnecessary.
Manual Rosin Press
Manual rosin presses are a portable, low-cost extraction solution that’s ideal for home users and personal consumption. They come in a smaller form factor which makes them portable and easy to lug around. These units typically involve a hand crank or a twist-style mechanism to apply force onto your material.
NUGSMASHER OG ORIGINAL 12 TON ROSIN PRESS
The NugSmasher Original is the rosin press that put NugSmasher on the map as a company that makes quality rosin presses. The NugSmasher OG is a simple, no-frills rosin press that has it all: 12 tons of pressure to squeeze up to 14 grams of material, large 4" x 4" plates from steel, and dual heating elements — all delivered in a compact unit made out of solid structural steel.
The NugSmasher Original is perfect for first-time rosin pressers or those who are looking to upgrade their lesser-capacity rosin press to get the benefits of the increased pressure and larger plates so you can press more material with each squish. Last but not the least, the NugSmasher Original comes also comes with a lifetime warranty. If you’re looking for a rosin press under $1,000, it’s hard to look past the NugSmasher Original.
Hydraulic Rosin Press
Hydraulic rosin presses use hydraulic pressure to generate the force needed to produce rosin. The force is generated typically through the use of a hand pump. It’s typical to find presses in the 10-ton (20,000 lb) hydraulic presses, although more and more you can find ones in the 20 and 30-ton range. Moreover, hydraulic presses are less intrusive to being used in smaller environments because unlike pneumatic presses that require an air compressor and are noisy to operate, they just require some elbow grease to get you clean rosin. Though one downside with hydraulically powered presses is the chance of leaking hydraulic oil from the cylinder.
DULYTEK DHP7 V3 HYDRAULIC ROSIN PRESS
Dulytek® DHP7 V3 Hydraulic Rosin Press with Driptek / Driptech Option generates up to 7 Tons of force pumped up to its 6" x 2.5" insulated solid aluminum heat plates squeezing herbs to capture every last drop of precious solventless oil. Simply set your squash timer, temperature, and Celsius or Fahrenheit preferences to the dual function touchscreen display, pump the lever operated hydraulic driven plates up, twist the press knob to release, collect your yield, and enjoy organic concentrate in your own home. The pressure and ram speed of the press is controlled by gentle pumping of the cranking handle. The machine comes with a complimentary starter kit that includes all the basic tools and accessories necessary to start pressing right away: two rosin collection tools, non-stick silicone mat, 10 sheets of parchment paper, 3ml rosin storage jar, and four magnets.
Variable-hydraulic Rosin Press
These presses are predominantly hydraulic rosin presses on the inside but instead of being stuck using a hand pump for the entirety of your press, they’re cleverly engineered in such a way that a simple switch of a pump attachment allows you to control these presses either pneumatically, electronically or using a hand pump to suit any type of extraction demands.
Sasquash V2 15 Ton Rosin Press
• 15-ton squishing capacity
• Large 8.5" x 5" plates
• Lifetime warranty
Pneumatic Rosin Press
A pneumatic rosin press pretty much has the same features as a hydraulic one, except instead of being powered by a hydraulic cylinder, there’s an air chamber that’s being powered by an air compressor.
That, however, means, no hand pumping. This is especially useful if you’re extracting a couple of batches at a time. Another beauty of a pneumatic rosin press is in the ease of controlling and changing the pressure as you press your product — it’s literally as simple as pushing a button and you can do it in small but precise increments.
Pure Pressure Pikes Peak V2 5 Ton Rosin Press
• 5-ton capacity (20g of flower or 35g of kief/hash at a time)
• Fully programmable control system
• Automated pressure control system for fewer blowouts
• 10" x 3" plates
Electric Rosin Press
Electric rosin presses, on the other hand, are fairly new to the market but are gaining rapid adoption and popularity. It’s obvious to see why because electric rosin presses don’t require any compressors or external pumps to function. All you need is an electrical outlet to plug these in to and you’re good for extraction.
Furthermore, while the idea of 10-ton or 20-ton rosin presses sounds nice (especially for large batches), if you’re simply extracting small batches, all you really need is one or two tons of force; electric rosin presses are specced to deliver between 6500–7000 lbs of pure electric power while capable of pressing up to 15g of flower.
Rosinbomb M60 Electric Rosin Press
• State of the art, fully electric rosin press
• 3.75" x 3.75" plates
• 6,000+ lb squish capacity (15g at a time)
• Flow channel technology

Rosin has become one of the most popular concentrates. Its potency is off the charts. That’s why it’s easy to see why enthusiasts love rosin and its concentrate products, although the process of making is far from easy.
To achieve the optimum purity of rosin, you need high-quality rosin presses with the best reliability. These machines use heat, pressure, and filter bags with microscopic holes to extract rosin in high concentration from your cannabis hash without the use of any solvent. Rosin presses also have different types according to how pressure is applied. There are hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, and manual-operated rosin presses.
Manual rosin presses are perfect for the home grower looking to turn some of their harvest into rosin. They are best suited for personal use, using a hand crank or a twist mechanism to generate pressure. They are typically slower, smaller, and less powerful than other types, so they’re better suited for producing small quantities of product for personal use.
The NugSmasher Mini is our experts’ favorite personal, manual rosin press and one of the best rated rosin presses anywhere. Small and discreet enough to keep on your kitchen counter and portable enough to move from room to room or take to a friend’s house, this personal rosin press is great for home use or for users just getting started with extraction. Made in America, this unit comes fully assembled with a lifetime warranty and features that you would expect to find on larger, more expensive commercial rosin presses. Just plug it in, warm it up, and get to pressing.
We especially love the NugSmasher Mini’s simple operation that makes a quick press easy and right at your fingertips. It may look small, but this press packs an incredible 2 tons of pressure across the 2.5” steel plates — allowing you to press up to 3.5 grams of material. It’s also one of the most affordable, quality presses on the market, making it our experts pick for the best affordable, manual, personal rosin press.

The ECO Farm CH2034 rosin press is 2 ton, Weighing only 4kg, this lightweight and compact press is perfect for home personal use. It also comes equipped with a convenient carrying handle making it’s portability even more manageable.
The ECO Farm CH2034 is completely manual and utilizes a locking lever mechanism. It features 2″ x 3″ dual heating plates and even though it’s small, it still manages to generate up to 850lbs of adjustable pressure. This press is a steal at this price point. Now of course there are more powerful rosin presses available but a press this well made, at this low price, is hard to beat.
The Pure Pressure Longs Peak Rosin Press is a highly advanced pneumatic rosin press. It is similar to the Pikes Peak Rosin Press.
However, it scales up the squish capacity. It can be up to 35 grams of flowers or 70 grams of hash.
The plates are three inches by ten inches and apply up to 8 tons of pressure. I find this rosin press great for controlling production.
The Pressware technology features an LCD touch screen with custom software. It allows you to save 30 pre-set recipes that can be used every time you need it.
The heat distribution is 0–300 degrees.
There is a two-year warranty on the pneumatic cylinder and frame, while the rest of the press has a warranty of one year. The body has a powder coating to make it more long-lasting.

If you have to squish weed in your apartment, an all-in-one rosin press is the better option.
How to choose among manual rosin press, hydraulic rosin press, and electric rosin press?
How much pressure a rosin press delivers? — The optimal pressure range for pressing rosin is between 1,000 and 1,200 psi considering rosin bags used in practice.
A pre-press footprint of 2 sq/in for pressing needs at least REAL 2-ton pressure. so you have to exclude manual rosin press in spite of the convenience it brings.

When it comes to finding the best time and temp for rosin pressing, you weigh the benefits of yield versus terpene preservation. Nobody can really give you the best exact time frame, it’s something you need to feel out with the press you’re using.
🔥 Hot press is 190–240°F for 30–180 seconds. Hot pressing rosin gives an oily or shatter consistency. The terpene profiles may not be as carefully preserved, but yields are higher than cold pressing.
❄️ Cold press is 160–190°F for 60–300 seconds. Cold pressing rosin makes a thick budder consistency. The best terpene preservation, but yields are lower than hot pressing.
⚠️ Terpenes often degrade at over 250°F. Flowers (buds) are usually pressed hotter than bubble hash or sift, which extracts fine at lower temps.
