The reason for most of us growing medicinal plants is to try to find a variety with high CBD and low THC, because CBD's medicinal value is very high. Industrial medicinal plants are usually chosen as the planting target. So how do we extract medicinal plants oil CBD after we harvest mature medicinal plants? There are two common ways to introduce: carbon dioxide extraction and ethanol extraction. This is also the two relatively clean medicinal plants oil extraction methods.
CO2 extraction
This extraction method is more suitable for the extraction of small amounts of medicinal plants, as it involves a range of pressure and temperature control equipment, mainly by controlling the pressure and temperature to separate the medicinal plants oil, and it can up to a maximum extraction rate of 90 percent by this way. First, by injecting dry ice, or we can call it solid carbon dioxide, and adjusting temperature and pressure to make it be a liquid state of carbon dioxide. Some spices and chemicals are extracted by allowing the liquid carbon dioxide to pass through the medicinal plants leaves, and finally the liquid carbon dioxide is separated from the hemp oil. This method is very effective and is often used to extract a variety of essential oil products, and the extraction rate is high as well. The disadvantage is that the equipment is very precise, which means that the price can be up to a very high level, and the cost can be very expensive, so for the people who control the equipment instrument, they must be skilled.
Ethanol extraction
This method is a solvent extraction, which can extract more components not just CBD hemp oil. The ethanol extraction process, it is unlike CO2 extraction because using this method can produce very high full-spectrum medicinal plants extracts. This approach is also considered to be the safest way to extract. This solvent-based extraction method, especially for ethanol, can be applied to large-dose extraction, up to 20 times of the CO2 extraction method, and the operating equipment is relatively simple, so the power requirements are not high. In this respect, ethanol extraction consumes less than one-fifth of the required power of CO2. It also extracts much more than carbon dioxide, allowing the extraction of medicinal oils from almost all plants, including the Chlorophyll. However, the entire extraction process becomes very slow because this method is finished by utilizing its boiling point, coupled with subsequent complex processing.
Both ways above are the methods of extracting the CBD hemp oil from the medicinal plants, and we will update the information to provide a better service.
